Hi folks! This is a blog intended to serve as a source for information and an opportunity to discuss research and ideas from neuroscience and cognitive psychology as they do ... or might ... apply to teaching and learning. I'm an academic administrator and classroom teacher (science) at an independent and comprehensive high school in rural central Maine (USA), so my primary focus will be on secondary-level education. My background involves undergraduate and graduate-level study of the life sciences, with particular emphasis on neuroscience, cytomolecular and developmental biology, along with healthy doses of psychology, pedagogy, and educational research. My specific interests include curriculum development, analysis, and refinement along with cognitive systems modeling. I hope that this space will help me to collect and connect a variety of ideas, but I also look forward to the potential for learning from other readers through your comments - please let me know what you think and what you're interested in, too.
